Lets talk about more than sex
While it can be difficult to talk about sex, sex therapy is more than just sex. I come from a sex-positive, non-judgmental and LGBTQ+ informed approach. Often, many sexual concerns are part of a larger network of issues stemming from our past that we will explore.
Feeling like an emotional burden and being “too in my head” can impact our sex lives. In relationships, sex and intimacy is often the first dynamic to leave. And it’s incredibly important to pay attention to your communication.
What is sex therapy?
As a sex informed therapist, I specialize on addressing specific sexual concerns, such as low sexual desire, sexual identity, pain during sex, sexual trauma, and performance concerns. In session we explore personal, physical, and historical factors that may contribute to your sexual concerns wherein I offer various exercises and interventions to alleviate the presenting issues.
Specifically, my approach to sex therapy is about creating a deeper intimate relationship with your sexual and passionate self. Being disconnected from ourselves can affect our intimate lives and make you feel self-conscious, or that “there is something wrong with me.” More often than not, I will offer you some fun homework to explore with your partner(s) or solo to create a deep sense of knowing.
